The image is too large to see all at once on my monitor without changing resolution. Good use of the 1.33 aspect ratio, shadows look great. I would like to see fewer waterfalls on this site.

not sure how to change the aspect ratio (another thing I guess I need to learn)

We are so lucky to have all these waterways, waterfalls, streams, creeks and Trees around here....sorry you are getting tired of the waterfall type pics but I would guess that the majority of the people who post here are shooting some type of water 80% of the Time....
Just seems like water is usually a part of our work!

Darren,
Looks good to me. I love that narrow river canyon. As for not being able to see it all on my monitor, I see it fine with lots of room to spare. If you do have trouble seeing it all at once, you can press f11 on the top of your keyboard. The image is with in the posting size limits.

I like it but it feels like it's missing something compositionally. If there were leafs along the side of the river or something on the rocks that was interesting that would improve it for me. Nice details, but it doesn't quite say enough if you want my honest opinion.

I'm with Jim on the in-your-face feel to the image. I also agree with you Darren about the cool tone... you might be able to eliminate that if you try backing off the cyans and/or blues using either a hue/saturation layer, or a selective color layer.

if you're in Lab color mode, use hue/saturation, select cyan, then use the eye dropper to click on a bluish area. a cyans2 will appear in the color list. back this off a bit and see how that looks to you.

if you're in RGB mode, you'll get better results if you use selective color, IMHO.

This looks great - it reminds me of some of the areas I saw on Steamboat Creek a few weeks ago..

Darren, Is this also from your trip to the upper Washougal? Have you spent any time upstream from Moulton Falls above the wodden bridge? Wanna go, let me know. :jump:
