Okay, those who are really astute might realize that the above picture is not of the San Juans. I took it on Tues. on my way to the San Juans.
Things are now well past peak, both in the Cimarrons and San Juans. But I like photographing leaves on the ground and the contrast of barren trees and yellow trees. In fact, yesterday I probably got my best photos of the fall (though I don't yet have them up on the web). That being said, it has started to rain and may continue for a few days. So the San Juans may not be a good location at this point.
Here's a few other shots (#5-9 are the most recent, from the Cimarrons on Wed.)
nice work on the Cimmarrons Grant! I really like the contrast of the bare trees to the gold as well. Looking forward to the "good" ones...

Nice stuff, perhaps the best you've linked us to in a while. I agree on the San Juans, too. Just got back, and it's pretty much over, in terms of leaves on trees. There's a patch here or there, but that's about it.

Great shots, Grant. I really enjoyed some of your unique and detailed views, helps me continue to learn.

Wow ... on this shot and your linked page. Great photos, but more importantly, great vision. I really like the lone pine image and the river rock image.
Hi Grant, my favorites are #3 (rocks) and #5 with the pine in the aspens.

Thanks for the nice comments. I admittedly was lucky on the Garden of the Gods shot. I was driving down I-25 and saw some nice clouds and light starting to form, so I raced over to the Garden and got there with about five seconds to spare before the light started to fade. I did miss a nice rainbow, though.
Hey Grant - that GotG shot is exceptional, wow. Nice collection of fall images, too; I especially like #5. Good stuff all around.

Grant, You've really got some nice fall images there. They are all nice, but I think #5 with the diagonal aspen leaves/ trunks is outstanding. Thanks for showing them.
