Fallow Deer
I went to Bradgate Park today and it was nice meeting a few of the guys that post on the forum. As I only live about ten miles from bradgate I have had the chance to look at my images from the day. It was a mixed day, good weather, but the deer not really playing ball because they was a lot of people which was unusal for this time of year. This image was taken right at the end of the day, I have done very little on fallow deer so this was a nice bonus. Nice meeting you all.
Canon EOS 1D MkII, 500mm lens, 1.4x Converter, F5.6, 1/60, ISO Rating 200.

Hi Danny
Nice to meet you today, and yes, is was a tough day for photographs although I finally managed some reasonable Red Deer shots towards the evening and salvaged what was looking like a blank day. Will post something tomorrow, too tired to look at RAW files now.
Nice shot by the way, good use of the out of focus foreground foliage to frame the deer, it makes an attractive portrait. Can we see the scar shot next?
Hi a nice image I would post some of mine but it seems it won't let me ? Didn't manage to meet any of you today but did manage to get a few red deer there is some on my web site just click on today's gallery.

Hello Sean
I am glad you got something from the day it was hard work today. It was nice meeting you today and that scar photo is so boring as I have had to get them ready, the things we do for money eh

Hi All
Here is one of my shots from Bradgate yesterday taken near the Newtown Linford entrance looking across the river where this stag was protecting his hinds. Slightly awkward light at the end of the day here with heavy shadows and then patches of bright sunlight. I wish the fence wasn't in the background but the shooting angle was quite restricted due to trees and bushes so this was the best I could manage.
Canon 20D, 300 F4 L + 1.4x TC, ISO 400, 1/200th, f7.1, tripod (manfrotto 190+393)
It was nice to meet up with a few forum members yesterday, and the Steak Ciabatta in the Bradgate pub was very nice......
cheers

OK I admit it I didn't get any useful images
I would, however, like to thank Tom, Michelle, Danny and Nick for the loans of their equipment and, once, again for their company and wisdom.
This is probably the fovourate images I took whilst at Bradgate with UKNP. The grass at the bottom left needs toned down a tad if I was to spend any time on it.
What is it with these park deer that make them look groomed?
I've spent the last three weeks up to my neck in mud, heather, wet grass and burns at stags and not once did I see such trim looking stags.......hell even the hinds didn't look this good.
