So I originally went to Flatside to shoot the Harvest Moonrise. I had considered it last year and couldn't follow through for one reason or another. Last month Bill and Tim inspired me with their first class full moon shots. After getting to the top of Flatside Pinnacle, I realized that the Moon was going to come up much further North than I had hoped, and I also got distracted by the fire. Anyway, I didn't have an angle to frame the Moon, and including some bluffline wasn't going to happen either, so I went out to the east end of the bluff and used a nearby hill and some of Lake Maumelle to spice up the compostion a bit. A few shots later my interest fell back to the fire and the interesting but not breathtaking sunset.
Thanks for looking!

I really like this one Dominic - even on my crappy monitor at work that is way too dark. There's something about having that glow along with the earth's shadow below that really appeals to me.
In comparing this month's Harvest moon with September's, I've noticed that having some high clouds/smoke seems to make the color much more orange...Nice shot!
