Hi all,
Just wanted to let those of you who lead workshops know about a company that will provide liability along with equipment insurance.
I had been trying to find insurance locally but nobody wanted to insure for the kinds of things that we, as workshop leaders, do. Namely take people on trails, etc.
Anyway, I found a company called Hill & Usher and they specialize in insurance for photographers. Some of you may have received a postcard from them already.
The rate I was quoted for equipment and liability insurance was less than twice what I'm paying for equipment insurance alone through the NANPA program at Chubb. So I'm happy about that.
I talked with a guy named Richard Reyes. He was very helpful and responsive and had a quote ready for me within a matter of hours.
Since I'm just starting with them I can't give any feedback on their service, but my first impressions are favorable.
If any of you are interested, here's the contact info:

Rod, thanks for the heads up on that. It is something I may be looking at soon.

Thanks Rod! I've been floating with no insurance for almost a year since State Farm dropped me when they discovered I do workshops. I guess they thought I was guiding people into the wilds in search of Bigfoot. I'll check this company out for sure.
