Nice shot Vince, yep I remember Leighton, I hope he is keeping well after his altercation with one of your other (female) birds of prey a while back.
cheers

Hi Sean
Yes Leighton recovered from the Red tailed Buzzard that nearly ate him alive
Took him a while to heal, not just physically but mentally to. It's not good being pinned down by a red tail & being plucked, human error was to blame & not the red tails fault at all, she was only doing what comes naturally.
Good news is he 's back to himself & showing off & posing like he does Great to see
Thanks for asking
He is one lucky bird
All the best
Vince
Just look at the pleasure he gives to his visitors

Good shot like it.

Glad to hear Leighton is back on form.
I am also impressed you took this shot handheld. A 400mm f2.8 lens at 1/250th is not an easy combination to keep steady but this looks tack sharp.
cheers
Sean
Please will you stop saying you are handholding that 400/2.8, you are making me feel very inadequate
Super image of this spectacular bird.
Its not that heavy, not compared to holding an Eagle Owl for long periods of time.
Cracking shot and I am amazed how you consistently get such fine results hand holding such a heavy lens!
David
(PS Phil, don't beleive everything - the Nikon 400/2.8 is nearly a Kilo lighter than the Canon one
