Hi I'm off to Cornwall on Thursday just for one week, any must see places. Not a photographic break, have to fit in with wife and friends and its twenty five years or more since I've been thier.
Seeing as no-one else has chipped in...I can't suggest any wildlife sites in that area, but I can give you a couple of others...
Don't know anywhere immediately around Padstow, but a couple of places spring to mind further south that will make entertainment for the family too. There's the Lizard Peninsula with the BT 'earth station' and visitor centre at Goonhilly downs (the Satellite dishes make for good night time photography). Pendennis Castle at Falmouth, and St Mawes Castle on the opposite side of the estuary, are two nice castles to visit. A bit further east between St Austell and Lostwithiel you'll find the Eden Project. Up towards Bude/Launceston there used to be the Tamar Otter Sanctuary. Looking at the Otter trust website, it seems that they have recently sold this so I'm not sure if there would still be any otters there. I'd call them first if you wanted to visit (the number I found on the 'net is 01566 785646). Up on the North coast Tintagel Castle is another site worth visiting. Tintagel village itself is a bit twee and done out with the usual touristy Arthurian legend 'tatt' through .

Thanks Nick, I was begining to think no one had been to Cornwall thanks again for the tips. I also found the Tony Howell web site and got some ideas from there.

Boscastle (assuming it has now recovered from the floods a couple of years ago), and Crackington Haven on North Coast near Tintagel are very scenic as well
