I'm going to print some panoramic images on my Epson 2200. They will be about 13" x 30" prints. My question is this... Is it easier to just cut the paper from the roll to the appropriate length, create a custom paper size and print, -- or -- is it easier to deal with the roll paper adaptor and the paper cutter.
Using the 2200 I have cut paper 13 x 24 off a roll and printed okay, but I think much longer and feeding it in straight could be a problem.

Hi Keith, Since I'm a panorama fanatic I have printed more panoramas on my 2200 than anything else. Use the cutter!! It only takes seconds to install and takes all the work out of the process. It is also amazingly accurate. I regularly set my print sizes for a 1/4" border on either end and it always cuts it just right, even when I don't bother to calibrate it. It is also much simpler to feed off the roller than to try to feed a curled up precut sheet. I just leave the roller on the printer and keep it loaded with the 13" paper and it doesn't interfere with the single sheet printing. I roll the brown wrapper paper that comes with the rolls around it to keep dust off the paper. When I want to print a pano I just pull off the tray, plug in the cutter, pull the brown wrapper off the roll, feed it and hit print. It takes me less time than it just took me to type it. Many times, when I have an odd size short photo to print I will just print it on the 13" roll paper rather than waste the paper and time to print on a single sheet and trim it. Good luck with your panoramas!
