I have preferred Dreamweaver since version 2, but you'll get a lot of opinions on this.......

I'm a total techno moron, know nothing about code or anything else, knew nothing about how to even begin the website process. I heard about a program called Web Studio 4 - downloaded it, and within 3 weeks had my website up and running. I'm sure it lacks many features, and I had to consult tech support a few times, but it was surprisingly easy for a non-techincal person to use. Check out my site and see if the program might interest you. I made my logo on PSCS2 and just inserted it into the program. The best thing is that it was only $99 versus the $1500 a local guy wanted to charge me. They also have a separate company that can host you - that only costs me $9.95/month.

Hi Reza,
I have done web design for others for many years now and have seen every change that has happened. As Bill mentioned above the Web Studio is a good tool for a beginner to use to get a nice finished product. I prefer Dreamweaver since it is the best tool for creating a more complex site. The key to that is "complex". Dreamweaver is not for a beginner in web design. Microsoft Frontpage is also good for beginners since it is much like doing a site with WORD. Be aware that Frontpage is going to be discontinued soon. I would steer clear of using online "cokkie cutter" sites that profess to have you a site ready in 30 minutes or less. You may get a site, but you won't be an original.
Photoshop is great for logos, but for years I have used a program called Fireworks which is also much like Dreamweaver. If you have Photoshop .... go with it and save some money. In this day and age there is no reason to buy expensive software to do a web site. Most programs can be purchased for under $150 and they do very well. You'll enjoy doing your own site as we all do. I rarely get a request anymore to do a site for an individual since most can do their own. Most web sites today that are paid for are by large scale clients that have more money than time. I hope that helps a little.

Well, you have to find what best makes sense to you, I've used just about every webtool and graphic tool and most will do the job just fine. My site was built with MS FrontPage 2003 if you want to take a look and my logo with PhotoShop CS2. And even though I have used FrontPage and the Followup software Microsoft has made and I have beta Tested, you can see my site design is far from Cookie Cutter.

Reza,
Hello. Besides being an avid photographer, I also do web design on the side. You may check out my business website at www.webpagesol.com . I would be willing to do a website for you if you would like. I have a photography website of my own, but in the last month I have switched my businesses' web hosting to another company, and I have not yet uploaded my site to the new hosting account. I do, however, have on of my albums up. You can view it at www.webpagesol.com/photo/bears . this is a flash album site that I created to show my Alaskan bear photos. I have another client, www.travelingcamerasga.com , who takes portraiture photography. I created a site for her, and what we've worked out is that instead of her paying me to update her site when she takes new photos, She has linked to a site called smugmug.com, so she can upload her photos into her own album. So I created her main site, and she handles the albums.
If you are interested in something like this, you can email me back at info@webpagesol.com , or you can call me at (678) 358-6048. Thanks, Ed Stokes
