Seahorse
Here's a seahorse I found in Tobago. Thought it was high time I posted something.

Hi Gavin

I have never done any underwater photography - looks good to me well composed and exposed!

Looks good to me too....

Shame the bg couldn't be a bit cleaner but appreciate that there was nothing you could do about that.... these really are endearing little creatures that you have photographed extremely well.

hi gavin,

it's a nice image of the seahorse. it's a shame it wasn't on a little more colourful stem as the grey neutralises its colour whereas a red (or whatever) coral would have enhanced it a bit. i'm amazed you managed to get an image like this with a 12 mm lense. have you cropped it? one thing i've found with seahorses is that they usually turn their head away if you get too close to them, and also wide angle gear is impossible to get close to something small if there is too much coral as they also like to bury themsleves in the most inaccessible places. i alway find it better to reach in focally and use a macro, even if not on full macro, although obviously this depends on water clarity and whatever you intend to shoot when you plan your day.....ironically it's always seahorses and nudibranchs you find when you have the wide angle on and the macro when you come across a manta ray!!!!

also, would love to hear your opinions of the nexus housings. have just bought a D2x and looking for housing options. do they allow ttl with the ys 90's as ive been using them with my fuji s2 setup.

cheers,

mark

I'd be tempted to try boosting the saturation a little to give it a bit more punch, but otherwise a lovely shot
