Here's the real shot I was after (see Wups post). I like both the portrait and landscape versions, but usually prefer portrait style. Looking back I wish I had moved/removed some brown stuff. Oh well...
Hope you like it. Let me know what you would've liked to have seen different.

I was gonna say it kinda looked a little crunchy. Great comp though.

Kevin, this has your style written all over it. I like it except for the extra brown stuff. As we have talked about before, we need to add a pair of garden clippers to our bag.

I love shooting this from above.. the carve in the rock pretty dramatic from centuries of water flow pounding against the rock.... wish the flow was a little more intense.. nice capture and exposure..

Yes, a classic Kevin composition. The brown does need to be clipped though.
Thanks all! I think I will bring clippers along from now on

I hope you are kidding Kevin. We do not need more people in the back country damaging habitat in the name of getting the image. Tying it back with string and then releasing it when done, to me, is a better alternative.
I am kidding, as I've been known to bend branches (just enough to be out of frame) so they bounce back later. I also hate it when I come to a spot that's been obviously messed with (esp trampled). That's probably my biggest complaint with my fav spots in my homestate in PA - too many people not following the rules ruins it for everybody.
That's why I ended it with a

I like this comp. A little crunchy, but thats what it's like this time of year. Amazing how light the waterflow is now.....

All right. Where did the log go that used to cross the falls! Kevin, have you been up there with clippers or a chain saw! J/K
