Off in search of Grouse last weekend when I came across this little scene. A bit of 'Man and Nature'!
It seems that the people who dumped the sofas had a sense of humour as, instead of just tipping them upside down, they had deliberately positioned them upright and in a triangle. Perhaps we should track them down and persuade the Arts councils to give them several thousand pounds for their 'Artistic Vision and Statement'!
OK, there's a humourous side to it, but also I find it indicative of our society and how people are viewing the countryside these days. It's also a damning indictment of the failure of our civic policies to stem the growing tide of rubbish being dumped in the countryside. After all, in the pursuit of greater savings of the public purse, more of the local tips must be closed in order to increase recycling and reduce costs. Funny one that - by closing the local tips we are also creating more pollution of a different kind as more people now have to travel further to dump their rubbish.
This is the first shot I've prepared for the Web through Aperture 1.5, so feel free to comment on the colour/sharpness etc as I'm still trying to figure out settings to use. FWIW, I should have removed the Circ. Polariser, or changed the rotation slightly to take the darker sky into the corner a bit more .

Whilst I agree wholeheartedly that dumping of this nature is a curse on what little remains of our countryside, I'd be sorely tempted to head back there with some models, lights and reflectors!

Your pic does just make me want to go sit on it though, is that the effect you wanted Nick?

These sofas seem to be squaring up to eachother over the smaller female. Must be the DFS rutting season out on the moors.
