Excellent shot and different to the usual grouse images.

Hmmm, not sure about this one David - I think you need to back off on the sharpening a bit as the foreground elements jump out a bit too much from the BG.

Nice one David. Looks ok on my notebook but maybe a bit sharpish on other monitors?

Nice environmental, I really like the layers here but the skyline bothers me I'm afraid.

I like it, but think if you cropped it to get rid of the snow and sky in the bg you'd have a stronger subject.
When I saw the title for this one I thought you might have been shooting wide with an X-Pan

Hi David

An excellent image, it works perfectly for me and the grouse is very well set against the expanse of it's habitat. :toast:

Possibly slightly oversharpened, but on my CRT monitor it doesn't look excessive and I only thought about it after seeing the previous comments.

cheers

Hi David....

Like it a lot... perhaps the fg is slightly oversharpened... (are you working with an LCD or CRT?), I really like the environment here, but can perhaps see where John is coming from but feel that any crop from the top would be detrimental to that, I am particularly fond of the warm tones in the fg fading into the cool tones in the bg.
