Red Deer Stag Roaring and repost
I spent over an hour with this Guy yesterday afternoon at Bradgate as he was roaring and thrashing around in the bracken. The light was beautiful for a change, I have closer portrait shots but liked this one.

Canon EOS 1D MkII, 500mm Lens, F6.3, 1/500, ISO Rating 200.

Nice capture Danny.

Looks like I left too early yesterday, I got there early but left around 12! Where abouts was this in the park?

HI Danny,

Great photo.

I really like the FG, it frames the head well.

Thanks for the tips over the weekend

Hi Danny

My first reaction on seeing this shot was the foreground is a bit too dominant, my personal taste would be for a bit less of the Out of Focus stuff.

However it still works well, great light and colour, and a dramatic pose from the deer. Nice one. :toast:

cheers

Great shot Danny but I'm in two minds about the oof f/g in this format - I think tighter would work better. Having said that it's better than anything I've got and still a great action shot.

Hello John

I thought you are coming down or is leicstershire to far  Take your point and have reposted the image to a portrait format looking at it I like the portrait better but I still like the out of focus bracken as it leads your straight to the deer. I have wanted to get a shot like this for many years as it is not easy getting this close to them. I don't really like to crop to much of my images so would probably leave it as is.

Much better Daniel  Might try to get down this week if time/weather permits. Will give you a ring so that you can guide me round.

Hi Danny,

I prefer the tighter crop on this one too.
