After communicating on NENP for a few posts, Chris Adams and I met up at Appalachia this past Friday for a waterfall/foliage hike. It was great fun shooting with another dedicated nature photographer (Chris has some AMAZING wildlife shots to share once her new scanner is up!), and though the light wasn't great for shooting the stream most of the time, we found plenty of neat things in the forest to photograph, many of which I would have never seen hiking alone!
By late morning, we both had pretty much written off getting a shot at Coldbrook Falls, the last falls we visited, but when we came over the last rise before the waterfall, it was shadowed! with great light in the hemlock canopy. You'll have to wait for Chris's slides to come back, but this is what I came away with!
Overall, it was a great morning, and thanks Chris for all your insight, we'll have to do this again when the snow starts to fly.
Hey Jim!! Thanks again for the invite!! I had a great time!!! And I sent off 8 rolls total yesterday! Nice shot on the falls, nice comp!!
Look forward to doing it again!!
This morning I got shots (hopefully ) of 3 bull moose together!! Low light as the sun hadn't come up fully yet but they weren't too active. Two sparred a bit after I called. Can't wait!!! Great way to start a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
