Hi Rob
Firstly welcome to the forum
Your first post is a nice shot, you have caught the deer in mid bellow which adds to the image. The general composition is good too although maybe there is too much empty background. Possibly doing a slight crop to make the deer larger in the frame would improve it, although largely a matter of taste here.
The head of the deer doesn't seem critically sharp, possibly due to subject movement (a 1/160th shutter speed won't freeze the deers head if it is moving about). Personally I would have used ISO 200 in this situation and given myself the latitude of a faster shutter speed or a bit higher aperture. Image quality difference between ISO 100 and 200 is negligable on a 20D.
cheers
Sean

An excellent first post, welcome to the forum Rob
I like the space around the stag so as Sean said its very much a matter of taste.
Welcome to the forum - I was going to ask if you'd managed to bump into Danny as it looked like the same stag from a different angle . Glad you had more luck at Bradgate than we did the weekend before

7 repliesI have been a long time admirer of the photos on this forum, but this is my first time posting an image.
This was taken at Bradgate Park, yesterday in the late afternoon just before the sun went down.
All comments welcome.
