Fly Agaric
Looks like its the season for Fungi, been off the scene for about 6 months (in and out of hospital)but feel well enough to walk in the local woods with my not often used wide angle lens, thought these looked quite nice.

canon 20d,canon 17mm 40mm lens,iso 800,80th sec@f8

Nice one.... I'm amazed that the three specimens seem to be complete, round our way they get eaten very quick (prob something to do with halucinogens  )

Like the environment and the different stages of growth, I might have moved a little to the right to try and even out the spacing, but well seen and taken.

Hi Barrie,

Glad to hear you're managing to get out & about. Hope the doctors haven't been prescribing these for you .

You've got 3 nice specimens there - like Phil, all the ones I ever find seem to have been nibbled (or kicked by marauding sheep ). I find the differential focus a bit uncomfy to look at though and would have prefered a slightly higher viewpoint to show a bit of the ground behind the fungi. That said, I do like the way you've got the difference in size between the mushrooms - with the one still to open on the LHS.

Hi Barrie

Good choice of lens and depth of field to show the mushrooms and the woodland environment. The whites just look a bit 'hot' on parts of the mushrooms but this might be something you can tweak in the RAW conversion. Overall an excellent image.

cheers

This makes a nice change, I like it. I agree with Barrie that the whites look a bit 'hot', but that's easily sorted.

Hi Barrie,

I hope you make a full and speedy recovery.

I like the angle here and the fact that you've found, not one, but three specimens together and still in good condition is quite an achievement
