Hey folks,
I just got off the phone with Silver Falls park. I was earlier led to believe that we could arrive anytime. But, the fellow at the regestration booth said that the gates are locked until 8am. I asked him what the earliest time we could start hiking and he said 8am. So I guess we all can sleep in an hour later. Also it would be nice to see how many people are going to participate. So if you're going, just let us know in this thread. Thanks and I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
I actually hope to be able to make this one. We are deciding on a campsite and if all comes together I'll be there at 8:00.

I know the South Falls lot is gated, but the North Falls end as well as a pullout to Winter Falls should be open without gate constraints.. it is really best to hit this at daybreak, so I might beat you all there...

I remember the last outing in December. There was no problem getting to North Falls parking area. I think I got there about 6:00 when I drove down from Seattle. Nothing was gated for me.

So, I'm sorry about the confusion folks. I would still like to arrive there at 7:00 am. But, I can also wait for the folks who don't show up until 8:00.

See you at 7am. I might be at the upper N falls at 7..... so plan a) meeting is the parking lot, plan b) is the upper N falls ?

For the sake of not making it any more confusing than it is, The outing oficially starts at 8:00am on Saturday. If you want to start earlier, I'm sure we all can meet up on the trail sooner or later. I will be at the North Falls parking lot around 8:00 am.

OK I'll be at the north falls parking lot at 8AM also since I have never been there before. I just downloaded directions from mapquest. A co-worker told me that there are also a bunch of old historic covered bridges nearby around Scio. Has anyone ever checked these out?
I'll be at the North falls parking lot by 8 am or a little earlier.

Our first time there, so we'll meet up with you at the North Falls parking lot at 8 AM. We're driving down to the area on Friday (from Vancouver, BC). Looking forward to it!
