Hi all
Looks like this chap wanted to re-locate.
This was FULL FRAME with no cropping(well just the sides), so he was atad to close for my 500 to get all of the wings in the shot. But hey thats nature for you.
An excellent dynamic action shot which IMHO works fine without the wing-tips,in fact I think it works better for it, as it really focuses the vieweres attention on the explosive action.
Because there's roughly equal wing length shown on either side of the bird the missing wing-tips look like it was a deliberate decision to exclude them, rather than a mistake.
Well done for reacting fast enough and getting a fine result.
I love the way he is looking directly ahead - he is definatley on a mission. - I'd be tempted to have a go at cropping a little of the flat water off the bottom of the shot - (if nothing else just to have a look and see if it works) but the square crop does work well.

Hi Alan
this is definitely a full in the face job which I like also the action of the water is great.
