SD10, Sigma 300-800 @800mm. Gitzo with wimberley gimble.
CS2, cropped 10%, contrast, levels. sharpen.
Spent two hours getting close to a pair of Redwings this morning. Had a lot of problems with dog walkers and bird watchers...
C & C welcome.

An attractive image with nice rich colours, well composed and with the bird a nice size in the frame.
A couple of nits are the birds eye doesn't appear quite as sharp as it could be,although perhaps it is, and just needs a little more sharpening.
Also the white areas on the birds face appear a little over-exposed,but again this could just be down to the image processing.
I'd also be tempted to crop or clone the small purple flower as it very slightly takes the viewers eye from the main subject.
Good work on getting close enough and getting your shot.

You have done well Steve.
These are normally quite skittish as a new arrival.
I always think they are a very attractive bird and this one is no exception.
As Justin has said whites are starting to burn out. Eye is ok for me.
There appears to be something about half an inch in front of the bird around foot level - it looks like it has been cloned out - if it is natural background it may well be worth a bit of cloning to remove it/tidy it up

Super little thrushes........................I notice this one is wearing a nice shiny new ring.
They are late coming in this year, I had my first birds locally only yesterday.
Colin
The bird is ringed. Can you read the ring by looking at it at 100%? We have ringed thousands of redwings here in Iceland the past years. It would be interesting to know if it's one of our birds.
