Hi folks, Dave Forster came by last night and we want to organize a similar workflow session as our friends down south are having tonight.
So on that basis I propose we meet the evening of the 27th of October here at the Lamb Household at 5pm. let's make it a potluck and we can eat then get busy sharing our various approaches to image workflow.
Please reply to this post your interest in this event so we can get a feel for how many folks will attend. Email me for directions to the Lamb Household if needed.
Dave, Nancy & I look forward to a great evening of commraderie & mind-sharing on image workflow!!

Darn! The 27th just happens to be the start of a no-kids weekend for Annie & I. I'll have to come to the next one.

This date can certainly be moved to better accomodate all who wish to participate. Let's work to find a common day that works for everyone!

Keep me posted on the dates. My only conflict is that I am trying to do as much fall shooting as possible before all of the leaves and colors are shot, plus I have a personal PS training session in Gig Harbor on the 3rd of Nov (afternoon).

You're kind Rick, but feel free to go with Oct. 27th if the masses can do it then.
I was about to suggest Nov. 3rd, but we want Randy to be able to attend.
Do we prefer a Friday evening, or would mid-week work for folks?

Alright folks it looks like we can stick with October 27th!! Let's meet here at the Lamb Residence @ 5pm. Nancy & I can provide pizza from a local pizza joint here in Snoqualmie.
Again please reply here so we have a good feel for how many are coming and if you need directions email me and I will gladly provide them.
David Forster mentioned to me that it would be quite cool to go out shooting the next morning so let's plan on doing that too eh!?

I'm trying to get a feel for what the plan is. Pizza at Rick & Nancy's, I get. Show and tell about how Rick gets from CF card to print, I get. (Ditto for Nancy if she feels like it.) Something similar with folks who like to work on a laptop, I get.
What do we want to bring?
Food? (Sounds like no, Rick & Nancy will provide pizza, though I think it's gracious enough of the Lambs to provide the meeting place; I'd be happy to reimburse them.)
Unworked files? Ones that we've procesed before? PSD's with layers and stuff to futz with? Prints?
What do people want to do Saturday? Someplace near Snoqualmie? Snow Lake? Gold Creek? Lake Annette? Middle Fork? Someplace further? Snow Geese at Fir Island? Rainier?
Just trying to understand what's going on.
Thanks,
Sean
P.S. In case it's not obvious, I'm interested.

OK so here's "my" take on how this ought to happen. It is an open forum for each participant to bring both information and questions to the table. We will all learn from each other! I plan to give a demo of my workflow using Adobe Lightroom beta 4.1, Adobe Photoshop CS2 and PK Sharpener.
If folks want to bring a problem image/images to get input/assistance I say bring it!! Copy it to either a CD or DVD as needed and we as a group will make a best effort to answer the questions at hand.
If someone else would like to step up to the plate and do a workflow demo that too would be awesome!!
If folks feel compelled to contribute to the pizza fund that toooooooo would be awesome!!
As far as where to shoot Saturday I suggest the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie. The only drawback to that is the road in can be a bit treachereous at times so 4x4 is highly reccomended. Nancy & I can carry a total of 4 in our Jeep. If the Watson's want to also haul warm bodies in their rig that would be maaaaaaaaaaaaavelous.
Oh and showing off one's prints can also be something fun to enjoy Friday evening!!!
I'll work on getting the big screen and image processing PC connected and talking nice to each other this week. Color calibration could be the only real hassle....
Oh and please BYOB for those of you who partake of the fermented libation!

Just thought I would drop in and say Hi to our friends of the North. Sounds like you all are going to have a good time on the weekend of the 27th. Maybe sometime we can join up and do one of these sessions together.

We look forward to having you all over!
I would love to see a couple examples of other people working images.
Being so busy at work or keeping our home "homey", I've not had much time to shoot let alone process images.
Pizza it is!
Sean - keep bugging me! :)

Thanks!!

Hi Rick, would you mind bringing up the topic of "Get Together #2" tomorrow? (since I'm hoping to join you all next time)
And, you may need to start a new topic to get your pizza order question seen and answered

Hi folks, I want to thank everyone who showed up at our event Friday night. We got off to a late start but once we got rolling the mind-share was awesome!!! The focus was on Lightroom and how it has helps several of us to streamline our workflow.
Our plan is to do this once a month so if you missed this one we will be putting another one together in late November.
