I'm just in from feeding a heap of them.

I like this, but I'm not keen on the dark base. At the risk of incurring the wrath of purists  , crop it out.

Mmmm.....the causeway at Leighton Moss......there was a Osprey having a meal on one of the dead trees down there a couple of weeks ago, someone spotted it and a zillion birders went charging down there, I'd never seen anything like it! Sorry, I digress, I like the shot as it is, cropping would just unbalance it IMHO.

Hi Philip,
I love these birds in habitat type shots.
Nice atmosphere and setting to this one, with the folliage archway being particularly appealing.
Looks like the pheasant is strolling along without a care in the world.
I'm not so sure I'd want to loose all of the darker foreground, perhaps keeping a thin strip of it would be worth trying.

There is one thing that doesn't do this image the justice it deserves, and that's the lack of contrast,it looks a little flat and hazy to me.I think with this resolved you'll be left with a fine image.

Very nice atmosphere to this Philip  and even though the bird is small in the frame my eye is drawn to it immediately because of the composition
