The day I had with a pair of Stonechats turned out to be so stressful, it was a nice country lane, normally quiet but not when I was trying to get some shots of these birds, hell broke loose, All of sudden all of this turned up, cars, lorries, horn beeping & a couple of stupid walkers standing by the vehicle being curious of what I was doing. 2 shots taken before the birds flew off.
Comments appreciated as always.

How many shots do you want when they are as good as this,i dont normally go for head on shots prefering the head turn/side shot but feeel that it works well here, abit big but thats cool with me and i like the droplets on the moss,i didnt realise that you used flash until i looked at the specs, maybe if i tried to find fault then maybe slightly more dof to get the legs in focus
This is very nice Vince.
The pose and stare are great but what I really like is the gorgeous combination of orange against green.
I never realised just how colourful and attractive the female Stonechat is untill seeing this.
Oh,love the mossy perch too.
The tighness of this emphasize's the head on stare very well Vince in a perfect world I agree a little more dof would have made it even better but in the circumstances you did well to get such a good shot as this

Well done
Great shot, good detail, perch & BG - my only nit a little tight in the frame!
