Red-legged-partridge
Hi one from this afternoon I went to see if I could get some images of the glossy ibis locally but ended up with some images these.

A slight crop from the Full frame no noise reduction sharpened levels converted to JPEG.

Phillip.

Hi Phillip

I find the image a little busy but accept this is a typical habitat at this time of the year - nicely processed!

Hi David yes unfortunately they didn't seem to want to come out in the open for very long I do have some slightly less hidden but I kinda like this one.

Phillip.

Hi Phillip,

I like the shot but find the b/g a bit distracting but you couldn't do much about that with the shooting angle. I wonder if you could smooth it out in PS with some GB or surface blur applied via a layer mask.

I like this, it's sort of 'real', if you know what I mean. You see a lot of manicured (probably not quite the right word) shots around that follow the 'perfect perch, pose and angle' school of thought. Don't get me wrong, there are many excellent images taken this way, but if you don't ignore the rules a bit you miss out on being a bit more creative and finding a new ways of looking at things......well that's what I think anyway

Hi Philip,

Nice bird in habitat shot.
Although there's lots of detail going on in the surroundings I feel the shot still works as it's such a striking and colourful subject that instantly catches your eye.

Hi Philip,

The background doesn't bother me at all. It's a nice shot of the bird in it's habitat.

Hi Phillip,

Lovely shot. The bright BG colour helps the Partridge to stand out.

Shows the environment nicely, although I do find the bg a touch distracting appreciate that there was not a lot you could do, also appreciate that you dislike doing much to your images...

I like it.
