A Very Knotty View
This was a scene near Preston's campsite at 4 Jefferies in Bishop. There were typically 2 to 4 deer here everday taking in breakfast or dinner. My first post from that trip. :wavey:

Paul,

You had some very nice subdued light here. You might consider a slight burn of the high values on the left-most trunk to balance the light a bit better. I really like the lines of all the trunks and the spots of color of the wild rose. Was this 6x7?

Nicely done!

Very nice indeed.....
I really do wish I could have come.....
I am surprized by the amount of green you still have there.
What elevation was this??
I agree about the highiites on the left trunk unless
that's where you want our eyes to go.....
It is the brightes point so our eyes go there automatically.
How punny...our eyes go towards thoses eyes
How big is that campground?
I have never camped down there....
Just up at Lee Vining.....

In gratitude,
Nelcha

Nelcha, thanks for looking here. The campground has around 30 to 40 sites I think. Not big enough for large motorhomes that I could tell. I'm not sure about elevation right at this site. I have no camping gear any longer, so I stayed in town. There was a car show that weekend & I was in a hotel with a lot of the Ford folks. Take care.

Paul,

Nice. I have a similar photo from that campsite but in harsher light.

Nelcha,

4-Jeffrey is quite a large campground. It has approximately 106 sites-49 tent/57 tent-RV when fully open. There is a 45 foot length limit for RV's, and there are no hookups. They close off some sections in the latter part of the season. The altitude is about 8,000 feet.

The nicest shaded sites are on the hill to the right after you enter the campground. There are also some nice sites near the creek (to the left after you enter the campground). Since I camp in a tent, I like shaded sites to keep the sun from deteriorating my tent fabric and to protect from the wind.

It's a nice place and fairly centrally located for day travels round-about.
