While many of you were at Silver Falls, I headed for the last chance of fall colors at Mt. Rainier (much less of a drive). After one snow and melt cycle, the grasses are well beaten, and lots of huckleberries had lost their leaves, however there are still some great red patches here and there. This image was taken above 4th Crosing between Skyline Trail intersection with Lakes Trail. Opened in Lightroom beata 4.1, (touchy controls), batch processed so all would receive the same modifications, 6 images stiched together. Slight correction in levels to set white point. At this point, I can see that I have lost some of the details in the snow, so next time I'll do some blending with a lesser exposure, but it is getting late.

For the conditions and the time of day, this is a decent shot - more of a sharing info shot than a shot you'll turn into something else. Thanks for sharing, Randy. BTW, the stitching looks good here.

The lighting and sky didn't do you any favors. This would be killer with an awesome sky and evening or early morning light.

All: Thanks for your responses. This is one FLAT image. It was taken 3 hours before sunset or maybe just a tad bit more. I will repost with some work however, I can't make the sky better unless I insert some clouds. Look for a repost (maybe).
