Been getting a bit frustrated lately, I seem to spend most of my time stuck in the house minding the screaming Baby and only have time (usually about an hour a month) to photograph common species in the back garden.
Sometimes the birds in my garden are just way too tame!
Not sure how this'll look posted here, the raw file is bitingly sharp
Canon EOS-1D Mark II, 300mm f/2.8 IS + 2X Extender, f/8 1/125, ISO 100, Bean bag, Angle Finder
ps. I already spotted the two dust spots...after posting

Nice clean background but the 3/4 profile doesn't work for me I'm afraid. However I do feel your pain with limited time and garden shooting. Keep it up.

Hi Larry
I sympathise with your frustration about finding time for your photography. I find it tough too and I don't have a young child to look after.
This is a nice portrait, probably a slight head turn would improve the composition but you have got lovely colour, detail and sharpness here.
I am more and more impressed with the 300 f2.8 combined with teleconverters, image quality certainly seems to hold up with the 2x converter fitted.
A nice close up Larry and the more I hear about the 300 f2.8 the more I want one,one day perhaps.
Perhaps just a slight reduction of overall brightness for me,but that's not a nit, just a personal preference.
