Fall (Winter) Pic from Ashcroft
No danger of having this one show up in the Fall Colors Contest, and we don't have a Winter Colors Contest, so I thought I'd post it here. This was taken on one of my short fall trips, along the road to Ashcroft towards the end of a fantastic day of shooting in a winter wonderland with Brent D., Darren, Tony and Dave R. Definitely not fall-like, but the scene struck me...

Comments, suggestions, critiques are welcome!

Very very nice Rick, I especially love the texture/feel/look/form of the evergreeens with the snow. My eye though really wants to see this end of the pond.

Very nice comp and light. I wonder if it would be better to bring some of the green color of the trees out. It looks like a B&W on my monitor (which is fine too).

Thanks, guys! I'm sure that I have something with more pond, though I recall that it was starting to look a little muddy/messy on the near side. I'll see what I have when I get home.

Thanks again!

What Darren said, but a really SWEET shot! (oops, he said that too)

Nice shot Rick! I would also like to see more of the reflections in the pond, but I kind of figured you excluded it for a reason. That bottom right hand of the frame looks like it gets a bit messy from there.

Well done!

Here's a couple of versions with more of the pond; it starts to lose its pristine feel on the near side.

Would agree, the first one is a keeper!

Hi Rick,

Yes, I agree, although I really wanted to see the end of the pond, I really like the first one the best!
