Hey,
I buried a link to this photo in my last post but since I didn't get comments on it specifically ya'll must not have seen it - RIGHT!
Anyway, here it is again as I thought I'd try to be one of those wildlife guys that Scott's talking about in his post (I least I can try). This buck was unusually calm for being a non-acclimated animal.

I don't like the back leg being cut off even though it was behind the Aspen tree on the right side.
Critique/crop suggestions welcome.

Taken with the 30D on Kebler 1st weekend in Oct.

Charge!!! Neat perspective on the nice rack. Given that this isn't just a headshot, I wouldn't mind having a bit more space around the edges to show more of the forest. Cool shot Chuck.

Yikes - he looks like he's coming right at you, Chuck. I agree with John about the unique perspective - outstanding. Having the back leg - and more of the surrounding environment - would be preferred, but I'm sure that has to be one of the challenges with wildlife photography in that you have to hedge your bets with lens selection and hope it works out. Overall - very nice!

Chuck,

It's a nice exposure and different view. Thanks for sharing.

I'd suggest cropping behind the shoulder for a vertical or square image. The eye goes right to the missing leg.

Nice shot. The only thing I would like is more eye contact. But that is just my opinion.

Thanks for the comments!
Dave, That's what I was thinking for a possible crop.
I was panning left with his movement then he slowed to sniff the ground. From a landscapers point of view I think that's one of the hardest things about wildlife photography - split second compositions.

Cool view of a good sized buck! Dave's suggested crop would work nicely.
