My wife Jennifer and I really enjoyed meeting several members last Saturday. Unfortunately we took a wrong turn an missed the group lunch.
I'm a recent digital convert (12 months)after shooting 35 for about 20 years, mostly of "snapshot" variety, although I was working with Velvia on landscapes the last 2 years. I'll post my bio in the near future.
This is my initial image posting (please be gentle ), but I'm really trying to learn and would appreciate any/all feedback. I think I was trying to say something about basalt and water.
Upper North Falls (oh, the sins of the wide angle user); Nikon 12-24 at 12mm, f10. I don't believe I had the polarizer on. Full frame; cloning of water "hot spots," curves. I'm not used to sharpening at such small size (Smart Sharpen, 50/0.15), and have masked the sharpening of the MG rocks.

Steve
Welcome! This is a nice first post. My only nit is the bright spot center above the ledge. My eyes go right for that area after I observe the foreground. I guess you can call it a little distracting.

Steve, Welcome, I like what you composed here , the bright sky is always troublesome on shots like this but it does grab the eye away from the falls

Steve - it was nice to run into you and your wife at the outing. I'm very glad you posted and became an official member
Heya, I know that leaf !
I like this shot and the flow is not bad - it's a difficult shot with the sun in the location it was in - it screams a lot louder than I prefer. Make sure you visit the Tips section of our forum. Nice first post and I hope you share more of your adventures with your camera soon !!
Nice post, first or otherwise. You're going to need a model release from that poor leaf!

Thanks all; the feedback is truly appreciated. Sometimes I feel like I'm working in a closed loop (no external feedback) and miss the obvious. John, I'll practice using Marc's sharpening for Web process prior to my next post.
