Folks,
This will be a challenging weekend to shoot. The weather is looking good light wise, but rainy from a comfortably standpoint.
Looks like rain showers on Friday into Saturday. I think they may taper off to a raw drizzle on Saturday and with any luck maybe some brightening late in the day. Sunday is supposed to be partly cloudy, but lake effect clouds might hamper that too. Closely monitor the weather. It will be cool ( 40's days- mid-low 30's evenings) with some wind on Saturday.
Even though its going to be a kind of an iffy weekend, there will be lots of shooters out. The CVPS has their photo workshop going on and so do I ( I have a group of about 13), so places like Tinkers creek overlook etc might be crowded from time to time with photogs as well as the leaf watchers.
One thing I think I can guarantee is, after this weekend it should really be over. I just hope that the wind on Saturday doesn't spoil what's left for Sunday.
OBSERVATIONS:
Blue Hen-- good place to shoot-- lot of water, leaves will have color. A good area to work. Also look around , there's lots to shoot besides the falls themselves.
Bridal Veil Falls --trees about 1/2/-2/4 shot, but still enough with leaves on the creek banks to make foe a nice image or 2.
Brandywine Falls. The leaves on the viewing deck side still have color, but the ones on the other side pretty well shot. Use the upper platform. The foreground on the lower stinks.
Tinkers Creek Overlook.---not too bad. Will be crowded with photogs as well as leaf watchers.
Beaver pond & Boardwalk-- pretty much done unless you want to walk the boardwalk looking for a heron or ducks. Might get a decent fog event on Sunday AM.
Boston area---These been lots of deer recently.
Ledges---A great place to shoot in the rain---leaves against the green mossy rocks --- tree color so-so.
Horseshoe Pond -- Never has been a good fall area for me--trees average to poor.
Armington Pond --It's over
Sylvan Pond--Problem here is with wind reflections are bad. Leave color average to poor. Maybe Sunday?
Hale farm area.---Color average to good...
Also Hinckley Reservation is pretty good also as an alternative.
Good luck. Please email me if you have any specifics.

I agree on the foliage being just about over in certain places. Rain is forecasted for KY tomorrow. I hope it doesn't, as it's my 27th birthday and I'd really like to spend it out there shooting. I'm torn between giving Clifty another shot or Bernheim if the weather pans out. Bernheim was the more promising of the two from what I've seen in the past week. I'm moving back to California starting on Monday, so maybe I should just save my energy for the ten day excursion.
