Rainier Autumn Shot ( With REvisions)
A shot I am unsure of, I like the stump and color as well s the sky but to me the comp seems to right sided. What do you guys think?

I would go with some Curves, Levels and some saturation to bring some "Punch" to this very nicely composed image!!!!

Mike...I have an edited version of this if you would like to see what I have done....fire me an email and I will send it to you!

Curves, levels and saturation would do it I'm sure.

But try this...
make a dup layer, go to image>mode>change to LAB color,
go back to image>apply image and set to overlay at 5-35% whatever looks best.
Then change it back to RGB
Because you did a dup layer you can erase the for ground stuff back to the original layer if it is too contrasty.

It's a really nice shot just needs a punch.

wow...I really should have made that Photoshop meeting....cause what Jeremy said is not english to me......Jeremy...wanna tudor me for a couple hours?

Ha...I just tried it and unless it would be different with the original, it didn't work. What Darren said should do the trick. It does come in handy for alot of images that need a little something extra, just not this one.
Tudor....? I don't know if there is much I could teach you.

Mike,
The stump flows nicely with the sky. Yea maybe a little saturation might help. I know what Jeremy was trying to tell you with LAB color. You have to pick and choose the right image to process with the LAB color space. It's quite a powerful space. BTW did I say I like the image. :toast:

Mike,
The file on display here is tagged with the Adobe RGB profile--making it look washed out in people's browsers. The color when opened in Photoshop looks great. I like this old snag as foreground in this photo and I think it is weighted fine left-right. I've been shooting in this field before and this is more interesting than the photos I took home...

I'm on a Mac and the color is popping off the screen. You poor guys and your profile intolerant web browsers! Any more saturation and it'll be dripping on the floor...... I like this comp a lot but the time of day makes it a bit harsher than ideal, but it's a stunning shot. When you sell it to OP for their cover you might want to flip it so the stump is on the Left.... they need a place to write all the text

Great composition but Rainier looks burnt out on my laptop screen.

Comp looks great to me on my calibrated pc monitor......slight preference for darker and more saturation........Jeremy, when you tutor Darren let me sign on too.

I love the mountain, love the sky, and love the tree in the foreground. IDK its prolly just me from looking at everyone elses comments, but the left part of the foreground feels to open and unsettling. It feels like the foreground is pushed to the right.
