I finally have a photo from Great Sand Dunes that I like. I discovered that I have to change the hue of every single RAW file from that shoot (even after a correct white balance was chosen). It's only then that the pink glow of sunset shows up well.
I also wanted to mention how fun it is to glisade down from the tallest dune. It took us 5 minutes to lose 600 vertical feet! I would highly recommend anyone to visit the Park. Just remember to bring gaiters.
Wonderful Momo! That image is totally mesmerizing to stare at on the monitor. Great stuff!

Thanks everyone for the comments. Tony: it takes just over an hour at a fast pace to get to this spot (from the parking lot). Darren: this was taken between the Tall and Star Dunes. We only made it to the top of Tall dune (600 feet), as there was no apparent advantage of going to Star Dune.

Why so long? You must have stopped often to take photos along the way.
Don
How far out into the dunes do you have to walk to get that view?
