When we went on the fall NEPN trip to Littleton, it was rainy when we passed by Crawford Notch. Mt. Washington could not be seen in the distance. I was lucky enough to go back the following weekend and see the view I was supposed to! This is the Ortonized version using revised instructions (thank you Rod Barbee) for Photoshop Elements 3.

Really nice shot, and a great effect.
Love it as is, but wondering what drove you to ortonize this...I think stand alone it would be fantastic as well!

Jim,
I'm still learning and just wasn't getting anything different and unique with a scene of such opposite colors and opposite flora(i.e. blooming field of flowers at the same time as the fall foliage). Ortonizing blended the fall foliage and brought out the colors to the point of being very gaudy, but it was effective and I had a lot of fun playing and learning the Orton technique! Just seemed like the thing to do at the time!

Thanks Pat. I'm with you on the rational, I sometimes get bored with the same old and start putting filters on my shots, it can suprise you. This did come out beautifully...
Hi Pat. You've shown us a couple of great images from this spot... just where is it? I agree with Jim, I think it would stand on its own without the Orton technique, but I'm not a big fan of that technique.

I agree this could stand on it's own but this is a wonderful presentation as seen from another perspective. I like it. It has a paint like quality about it and the colors layered as they are adds another dimension to the overall effect. Great job.
