Hi to all,
It'll be 5 weeks this Monday since I ordered my Canon 500 IS.
Is this length of time commonplace , or are Canon UK just a bit slow
If anyone can shed any light on this matter it would be much appreciated
Hi Andy, I ordered a 500 L IS a few weeks ago, it wasnt actually in stock so Canon had to deliver it and then it was sent on to me by courier, but I still received mine within a week of the order.

Hi Andy
When i orderd mine from warehouseexpress, they said i'd have to wait.Because Canon like to send a big shipment of stuff, not just 1 or 2 items.I think i waited 4-5 weeks .
Give the place you orderd it from from and have a chat about how much longer you have to wait.
Enjoy your new toy....................when it arrives
I am suprised this item is in short supply as its been around for years,Ive had mine for 6 years when they first came out and had to wait months, normally you get shotages with things like olympics etc so i would suggest phoning around, maybe try David Leung and some of the other big pro dealers-good luck and enjoy when you get it-fabulous piece of kit

Where did you order it from? I'd probably contact Canon to confirm this issue.

Hi Rob,
I ordered the lense from Dale Photographic in Leeds who after speaking to Canon UK quoted 2 to 3 weeks for delivery , I'll give both Dale and Canon a ring in the morning.

Hi Dave C,

I remember that when I ordered my 300mm F2.8IS about 5 years back i waited for over two months for it, then got fed up of waiting and complained in the end I had one couriered to me direct from Japan via Cathay Pacific
Canon are victims of their own success, they just can't meet demand!!
Ffordes have sold 2 SH Mint- 500mm's just recently they currently have a 500 f4.5 for sale for about 2.5k if you fancy it!?

No Problems Andrew,I will buy you a pint if you go to the Conference
I had a frustrating four week wait for mine. Worth it when it arrives tho, hope you have a big letterbox.

I ordered mine from mifsuds and got it the next day..
I personally couldn't wait that amount of time for a new toy to turn up, when I order something I want it straight away
Oh, and it was a 100 quid cheaper than anywhere else
