Envious...
...of all the fall colors images. Couldn't make the trip to the east side this year so here's one from last year's trip with Preston; although this was taken the day he left. This is in the boulder field above Independence, heavy overcast that morning with lots of rain in the afternoon.

Toyo 4x5
90mm f8 Schneider or 210mm Schneider
Provia 100
Gitzo 320

I liked this the first time I saw it, and I still do, Reno. The contrast between the rabbit bush, the sage, the boulders and the big peaks is really something. You've done a nice job capturing it.

I recall that I wanted to go with you up to Independence, but I was really afraid of not being able to get over Sonora Pass. I didn't get to Independence this year, but I will next year! I hope you can join me!

Reno, these upper desert type vegetation shots can be very pleasing. IMO, as good as some fall color shots. This image is a fine example of this type of foliage and terrain from these upper desert environments.

Thanks Reno for reposting it....
as they say, if ya haven't seen it, it's new to you
And as a newbie here, I really love this one....
there's a real rythm about it and the colors and motion of objects
just takes your eye right to the top...LOVE it!!
and hope I can figure out a way to renew my friendship with
my 4x5 and be with you guys next year.
I'm not much into tent camping so I guess I'll have to sleep in my car??
Don't think I want to haul my trailer over the hill so late in the season

Gosh I haven't been to Independence in years.....
My dad use to bring us up to the Eastern Sierra when I was a little girl
from LA and we use to stop for a picnic lunch by the creek
and some train in a park in the town??
I'll have to go back with new eyes now, thanx

In gratitude,
Nelcha
