REQUIM FOR FALL COLOR---CVNP--final installment 2006
As the old song says " The party's over". Actually, it ended about 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Sat Am was showery, damp and chilly, but the light was OK and there still was some color to be had. About 1PM all hell broke loose. We had rain, then thunder, lightning, hail ( mixed with snow) and then the wind did its thing.

By 3-4PM there were few areas with any meaningful left color to shoot. We never got the fog at the beaver pond or a few other images I was looking for but it was, to say the least an interesting weekend, weather wise.

I guess now we are in the interim period waiting doe the first some to get out & shoot. Don't get me wrong, there are still a few areas that you can do some decent work, but not many.

I had 8 hearty souls here this weekend for my workshop. We shot all day Friday in the rain, and all Saturday as well. It wasn't easy but we made the best of it. Bob Kulon helped in the field as well as in my evening sessions showing my workshop attendees some quick but cool Photoshop techniques as well as dome plug-ins that are invaluable. Josh Anderson came up and attending our evening sessions as well as most of the daytime field shoots. Dan Borzynski was here last weekend. I am sure they made a few images this weekend that you will all see here in the next few days/ weeks.

About 5 minutes after the image shown here in this email was made, we had another thunder-snow shower. We were at the Ledges area in the CVNP. It was really bizarre.

How did any of you cope with this weekend?...... let us know!

I hope my updates helped some of you get some good images. Please share some with us if you can.

It was good to see so many people shooting in the park this weekend. Glad so many of you are discovering this resource. Thanks to Jack for helping to make that happen. Wish the weather had been more cooperative, but you make the best of what you get. At this rate, we should have good snow in a couple of weeks.
