Nice shot - like the reflection! It may just be an optical illusion, but there appears to be a slight slope to the shot (as if the vole is swimming uphill). I've just resized the screen so that I can get a vertical line along the tip of the blade of grass in front of the vole, and the reflected tip is some distance to the right of the actual tip, which suggests it does need a slight CW rotation.
Cracking shot,I had a day out a few years ago with a water vole expert and he said as long as you dont move your arms i.e point at them then they ok with you there, agree with rotation,Lovely image

Hi Tom
what an excellent shot of this small creature

Very nice Tom, agree about the rotation, another trick is to use the eye and the eye in the reflection as your reference points using the PS measure tool.....

Can i ask how long do you have to wait for one of these to come along ?.I take it you are in hiding so he does'nt see you ?.
As for time anywhere between 20 minutes and 2 hours between sightings

Thats a lovely image.
Did you get a sequence of shots? I'd like to see one of the critter coming towards me.

alas no, for it dived the next second due to some kid on a trike trundling along.
