I have been so taken up with being in the mountains that i have neglected the lowland forest so today i checked out my local woodland and couldnt believe the amount of fungi around, sadly most of it past its prime but i found some shaggy inkcap next to the track so went back for my gear and assistant(read wife) to hold the reflector

Hi Dave,
Love the OOF foreground and composition. However the inkcap doesn't look absolutely sharp to me, either the effects of down rezzing for the web or my crappy monitor. Glad to see I'm not the only one with an assistant to hold the gadgets!
Sorry to be abit negative.
Regards Chris.

Hi Dave
Nice shot with great OOF areas - I feel it would benefit from a little cropped off the bottom!
what a fantastic name. i thought it was going to be a bird!!! ok ok i´ll stay underwater from now on.
i like the image on the whole, you´ve done well to blur the surroundings, though i think a little gardening before the shot might have helped. i find my eye wandering a bit to the red blob and also little less to the light green blob. maybe your wife could help out there too......oh er just pick up that leaf....oh and that one......err no the one more to the right.....what´s that..oh sure i´ll make my own tea.

I'd agree with the others here, a bit off of the bottom would make it a stronger image and it looks a little soft.

Very nice image. I think I'd like to see it lower in the frame so there was more space above than below but other than that like it a lot. Nice use of DOF to isolate the subject.

I like it. The fungus looks like it has started to decay, producing the ink like substance. I agree with the others,, a little bit off the bottom of the image.
