I just got back from a three day weekend in the Valley. The fall colors are spectacular! The dogwoods, the oaks, the alders, everything is at peak right now. Highway 41 from a little ways above Oakhurst is great all the way into the valley and the valley is looking great everywhere. I have been going up this time of year for the last 4 or 5 years and this year is better by a factor of 10 than anything else I have seen.
Don't wait. It doesn't look it will last long. Wish I could have spent a few more days there, but back to the work grind.
Btw, the Merced is quite low and Yosemite falls is bone dry.

Plans got changed so I will be heading up Sat....
Hope the storm stays more North and doesn't go as far south as Yosemite!!
I was typing a long message replying to another post tonight and asking this
exact question and then the screen flipped and my whole book got lost??
