Hi Folks,
First, I would like to say that it was a pleasure meeting some of you in Silver Falls last weekend. Lisa and I had a great time exploring the area with you guys. I also appreciated the openness of everyone - hope the hip surgery went well Kevin. Unfortunately, at least with my digital work, I didn't get (make) anything I'd want to post here. I get the slides back on Wednesday - I'll post something if anything pops out!
Anyway, here's an image I made the other evening of a creek behind our house which at the moment its full of spawning (and dead) salmon. The image was a little strange to start with, so I "went with it". In PS I darkened it with the black slider in levels, then bumped the saturation (which is obvious).
Here's the shooting info:
Canon 30D
1/50th at f4.0
-1 exposure compensation
ISO 1600
28-105 at 28mm (image is also cropped)
Cheers,
Lee

I love this, and I haven't seen it on a good monitor yet. My only thought would be to concentrate more on seeing foliage as a series of layers, which gives more depth to the image.

Lee,
It was to meet you and Lisa. I hope you had a nice trip and that your efforts were worth it. As for the image, it has pontential. I do have a hard time getting over the blue color cast, especially in the big tree trunks. An easy fix that would be well worth it IMHO.

I really like the right side of this photo. Lighten it up some and it will really pop.

Nice color - the overall color cast is not doing it any favors, however.
