Nikon Picture Project & Epson P2000

I use Nikon's Picture Project to rename my raw and jpgs with shooting date and time as I transfer them from CF card to my hard drive. Recently I started dumping my CF cards to an Epson P2000 in the field. I cannot get Picture Project transfer to recognize the P2000. I have tried uninstalling Picture Project, connecting the P2000 to the computer and turning it on, and then reinstalling Picture Project (version 1.6). This still didn't help. I'm using Windows XP which didn't need the driver off the Epson CD to read the new device. I copied files from the P2000 to the hard drive and tried using Picture Project's import function to rename files. That read the download date/time and (mis)labeled them accordingly. Any suggestions on how to make Picture Project sit up and recognize a new device for the transfer function?

I have the same problem on my Mac. I use Image Capture to transfer my images from CF, but it doesn't recognize the P2000. My guess is it is recognized as an extrenal HD and not as a removable drive like a CF card. If you learn a work around, I would love to hear it. . .
