Hyena with giraffe leg
ISO 250 f8 at 1/500 EV -1/3 500mm + 2x tele

No retouching, just a slight crop to tighten all round.

We just missed a pride of lions killing a full-grown giraffe - I saw one with a badly swollen knee earlier in the day, which matched the animal they killed so I assume they were the same. I have several hundred shots of the lions feeding and then the hyenas the following morning (see similar post with the jawbone).

Excellent if a little gruesome. Like the composition on this.

the tight composition works well here.......but that may just be a knee jerk reaction

Giraffe leg looks awful, there's me complaining about athletes foot.
I'm thinking safari for our honeymoon at the moment, any tips?

The eye of the hyena has a macbre look about it. Nice behavioural study.
