More trees...
I love Ned's tree posting and enjoyed the series of tree photos that were posted a few months back by various of you. I never took the time to put out any of mine. Here's one from another season - it doesn't have the richness of the colorful foliage that Ned posted, but here nontheless. Brown's Creek from last March. It certainly does loose a bunch of detail in dropping out to meet our posting guidelines, but enough left to get the idea that it's trees and branches disappearing off into the mist as far as the eye can see.

I've tried to shoot areas like this too, but never cared much for the shots. These are really hard to appreciate in tiny jpeg form, bu5t the lighting was just right for this scene.

Wonderful work Janet, I love the silvery near-monochrome sharp detail with the sprigs of green.

I agree: forests are tough to shoot, and I like how you did this, as Eric describes above. I guess it's just me, but I fuss over foreground stuff in images like this. I'd like to see a version of the image without the mound of stuff in the FG. When I do that informally here on the screen by scrolling the image, I can then appreciate how all the trees go far back into the mist. Nice going.

I like the juxtoposition of leafless in the background vs. new foliage. Very cool.

I think it is pretty neat - the lighting is great..
