Common earthball
Continuing the fungi saga, here's my offering. I don't often do fungi, mostly cos i can't id them  These earthballs (not looked 'em up yet so that might not be the correct name) took my fancy as they were in a dark area and some autumn sunlight just occasionally seemd to spotlight them. I spot metered off the cluster of three big ones and opened up half a stop to expose for the fungus and let the shadows fall dark . No gardening done, scene recorded as was. I think it loses some detail when viewed small like this.

Nikon D2x Nikkor 105 macro hand held. Slight crop to remove the shadow of my large cranium from bottom right corner.

A common autumn woodland scene,I think they are common puffballs,I normally wait for cloudy/diffused light to photograph fungi but feel the dappled light works well here

I'm not really a fungi man myself but I do like good shots of interesting fungi. This shot gives a true feeling of a natural settingwhich I like.

Nice environmental shot. I like the fly posing in the left hand corner.
