Hi Rob
You have found a very good conditioned mushroom but the oof mushroom in the foreground is too distracting imho and would prefer more DOF to get the stalk in focus,my prefered method is to use a long lens-300/400 and an aperture around 6.3 on a beanbag, remote release and mirror lock up-not that im trying to tell you how to suck eggs
Afraid the OOF Fly Agaric doesn't work for me this time, but I can see what you're trying to do, and applaud your efforts to try something different! I'm sure there's a great image there with a little more work.
'fraid I have to agree regarding the oof mushroom in the foreground - I'd also have liked a bit more room around the BG mushroom too as it feels rather cramped in the frame. Nice specimen, the only ones I ever find are chewed or trampled by sheep

I agree with the others I'm afraid, the oof mushroom doesn't help and there's not enough DOF on the background one.

4 repliesMaking the most of a day off work, I found a couple of Fly Agarics in the local woods.
Not sure if the OOF Fly Agaric in the foreground works or not.
Comments welcome.
