I got my new monitor today (samsung 215TW). I got it hooked up and calibrated, and my images look completely different! More detail, more dynamic range, man it's a whole new world!
I think I need to turn the brightness down a little and recalibrate though... seems a tad bright, but man I love the new working conditions!

Yeah, those sammys are really bright. You gotta turn them way, way down.
