Thanks Preston for the larger view of this gem....
showing more deatil really adds to the image.
When I go back and look at the little one it almost looks pale by comparison...'
I flagged this one, so we'll see if I get anything???
"cold to the bone" and you had your 5 layers of clothing on??
and mitt and boot warmers "in and on" ??
Just a grand view from this area around South Lake Preston. Overall placement of the main peak and the island worked out very nicely. Thanks for posting it.
I could see the color change from down at my rig. It looked nice and I chided myself for whimping out. However, I was really cold and did not want to risk any illness; especially with 12 more days of road trip ahead of me.
Gee, it looks like I'll just have to go back next year...during the summer when there is a nice clearing thunderstorm and warmer weather. Painful, I know, but we gots to do what we gots to do.

Sitting here in my warm 71 degrees studio it looks great, but I remember how cold it was and this image conveys that well.
I was going to e-mail you and let you know that I had posted this one. I am glad you saw it.
That was quite an evening, wasn't it?
I hope all is well!

Yes it was. I am still kicking myself for screwing up my shot when the color picked up just at sunset. I guess this will make have to go back.
I am on my way back to Yosemite tomorrow morning to lead my Yosemite Valley Autumn workshop.
I'll talk to you soon.

I had a limited number of seats to 5 and all 5 got filled. It was a great workshop.
