Moderation... the joys of ...Not!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It pains me to have to write this but....

Recently 'The Mods' have had to deal with an increasing number of 'problem' posts.

These problems usually arise because people haven't read the NPN Rules of Conduct or the UKNP additions, hence claim ignorance in defense. Ignorance is no longer an excuse.

The recent problems have centered around three main areas

1) Using the forum to make reference, or elude to, commercial activities... See UKNP Additions Rule 6
2) The deletion of posts (by the author) after people have replied. See NPN Rules of Conduct No 13
3) Making comments that are not pertinent to Nature Photography. See UKNP Additions Rule No 7 or NPN Rules of Conduct 14.

If the above 'moderation' comes across as heavy handed please remember 'The Mods' have been entrusted, by the owner of NPN, to do a job. One would assume that if we don't do that job he will get somebody else that will. It is also worth noting that all serious 'moderations' are taken after agreement by ALL three Mods.

I really appreciate UKNP and NPN for, unlike some other Photography forums, they are a pleasant place to reside with good information and friendly people; 'The Mods' want to keep it that way and you can help by being considerate in what you write.

In finishing please remember the following

The contributors to this board are, in part, strangers to one another. Anothers perception of you will be formed through your words so please don't discredit yourself; a good reputation can take a years to build and a second to lose.
