I hope everyone got a chance to get out and shoot the fall color. I almost missed the whole show, but was able to squeeze in a few days of shooting last weekend in the Smokies and western NC. Sorry I didn't bump into any SENP'ers.

As my 4x5's are making their way across the country to be developed I wondered what everyone's favorite experience was this fall. One of my favorites was a hike to Spruce Flat Falls. It was a nice quiet rainy morning and the water and colors were great. I also enjoyed exploring the Balsam Mtn Road on Sunday morning. Although I didn't take many shots it was nice and quiet with absolutely no one else around. Quite a constrast to the bustle in the rest of the park.

So tell us or show us what your favorite part of this fall was!!!

I spent two weeks in New Hampshire this fall helping teach a photo workshop. I had a little time before the workshop to practice fall color reflections. They are a lot of fun. Here is a link to one of my favorites.

That's a sweet shot Les and a fitting title. I'm jealous!! I played around with some reflection shot's too and it was an area that I really wished I could have used digital for an instant preview. Instead I just shot lots of sheets, so hopefully something good comes out.

Good point Steve. I need to take advantage of some of those late season opportunities out there.

It's just starting to peak here in RTP. Spectacular color. I'm getting a lot of intimate scenes.

This would be one of the highlights...

Great shot, Richard. I love the rays. Was this on the Parkway? How did you include the image in your reply? I tried with my reply but it did not work for me.

Les,
This was taken from the Foothills Parkway - West, looking east over the Smokies. This is just one exposure out of 4G of RAW files shot this morning. Amazing morning.

As for adding an image to a response, look to the very bottom of the page. Hit the "Browse" button and attach. Hit "Reply to this topic." Thats how I did it anyway.

Cool shot Richard and I'm glad your still getting great shots!! You're making me jealous sitting here in the office.

Les, I think a while back they changed the rules so that you have to have an active membership to add images to replies. No worries though, a link to a shot is just as good.

Mine would be seeing wild river otters for the first time while hanging out shooting color at a local lake. No good shots yet of them but it brings a new quest!
